The scale of sizes is derived from the length of the back. Besides this, give the attention to the whole build of the dog and to the way of carrying the tail – that’s an important think affects the fitting of the dog clothes.

HOW TO MEASURE DOGS

The basic measurment is the backlength, measured from the shoulders (scapula) to the beginning of the tail. We measure this anatomical lenth in the same way at sighthounds and also at other breeds. Most of the coats, specialy the sighthound coats ar much longer then this measurment! Only the models for basenjis etc. has the real lenth as same as the backlength.
